The TENDEX system can be used for comparing individual player performance.
The calculation is as follows:
TENDEX <-- [Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocked Shots
- Turnovers - FGMissed - FTMissed - Fouls] / Minutes Played
The basic idea is to ADD up the positives, SUBTRACT the negatives,
and put the index on a "per MINUTE" basis.
In a single game it is possible to compare individual players,
or compare players against the team's TENDEX rating (team average).
