Chargers Point Guard Chooses UWMC

Aaron Jozwiak of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School will attend the University of Wisconsin Marathon County next fall.

The 5'8" point guard led his team to a share of the Central Wisconsin Conference (Large Schools) Championship this past season as the Chargers finished 12-2 in conference play. Jozwiak averaged 4 points and 4 assists per game and was named to the CWC's honorable mention all-conference team. A savvy defender, he was twice named his team's defensive player of the year.

UWMC Coach Dave Gibbs is familiar with Jozwiak's tenacity, having seen the Chargers in regular season action as well as their participation in the university's growing summer basketball league. "In the summer between his sophomore and junior seasons (1995), Aaron and his teammates competed all the way to the championship game, defeating some of the bigger schools in the area.

Witt-Birn Coach Jerry Aanonsen instills an outstanding work ethic in his players, and Aaron's play reflects that. Anytime your program welcomes a kid who works as hard as Aaron does, you've got to be pleased."
