DePere H.S. Standout Enrolls at UWMC; To Play Men's Basketball

Ryan Grant, standout athlete from DePere High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin, has enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Marathon County and will play basketball for the Huskies this fall.

A 6'7" 200 pound post player, Grant was named Honorable Mention All-Conference in the Bay Conference last season while shooting over 50% from the floor. He finished 4th in the league in rebounding with 8.2 boards per game and 16th in scoring averaging 10 points per game.

Grant was also named all-conference in soccer, and was recruited by various schools as a goalie. He joined the UWMC program in late August after deciding against playing soccer at a junior college in Arizona.

"To land an all-conference center in late August is certainly a pleasant surprise," said Coach Dave Gibbs of UWMC. "Ryan is extremely mobile, a good jumper, and has a great competitive nature. We're happy to welcome him to our program and we look forward to his ability to immediately contribute to the success of our team."

Grant is the son of Brad and Poppy Grant of Green Bay.
