Mukwonago High School Standout Commits to Huskies

Ryan Tomczyk of Mukwonago High School (Mukwonago, WI) will attend the University of Wisconsin Marathon County next season and play basketball for the Huskies.

Tomczyk, a 6'1" off guard, led Mukwonago in both free throw and three point field goal percentage his senior year, making 72.7% of his charity tosses while shooting 37% from three point land. He averaged just over 7 points a game for the 11-11 Indians who finished 5th in the challenging Classic Eight Conference which is located in suburban Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties.

UWMC Coach Dave Gibbs is pleased to welcome the Mukwonago product to the Huskies program. "Mukwonago has emerged as one of the outstanding programs in the southeastern part of the state due to the work ethic of their players and their coaching staff. The last two years they have sent 6 kids on to play college basketball. Their players are usually fundamentally solid in all aspects of the game, and Ryan typifies that. We are fortunate to land him as a recruit and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with him the next two seasons."

Tomczyk joins a UWMC program coming off a 20-6 record (a school record for victories) and a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference Championship.
