Introduction to WWW and Hypermedia Materials

Those who are new to the World Wide Web may obtain useful information about WWW browsers from the following sources:

For the uninitiated explorer we give here examples of a picture, an audio and a movie that will be found at some of the WWW sites.

You will require a gif viewer to see Pictures of the M 100 galaxy . The picture on the left was taken by the older WFPC-1 camera aboard the Hubble Space Telescope just before it was serviced and the one on the right by the newer WFPC-2 instrument with corrective optics just after HST was serviced. The pictures were made available by the Space Telescope Science Institute.

If you have a MPEG viewer, you can view a movie of a Cruise throuh an Alien Landscape (357K). This mpg file was created by Robert Kimmel at the University of Washington. For examples of audio in hypermedia materials and a more complete description of such materials please look up the MOSAIC Demo Page at NCSA, UIUC. Please click here to listen to their audio on "global hypermedia".

Animated pictures have now become part of HTML documents. You can check out information about these and other interesting information by linking to WWW.WWW. FRASERVALLEY.COM .
